Nigerian Man Returns $14,000 Mistakenly Sent by Crypto Trader, Earns Praise for Integrity

Anjola Femi, a Nigerian man, has garnered widespread praise after returning $14,000 (approximately N21 million) that was mistakenly sent to him by a foreign cryptocurrency trader.
The incident began when Femi participated in a cryptocurrency giveaway organized by Rafael Alvi, a well-known social media trader operating under the handle @raffayalvi. Femi initially received $100 worth of Solana, a popular cryptocurrency, as part of the giveaway. However, due to an error, Alvi accidentally transferred $14,000 to Femi's account.
Upon realizing the mistake, Femi decided to return the substantial sum. Alvi publicly commended Femi on social media for his honesty, highlighting Femi's commendable integrity. The story quickly attracted significant attention online, with many applauding Femi for his ethical actions.
Femi explained his decision to return the money, stating that honesty and integrity are values he deeply cherishes. "Keeping the money would have been wrong. I believe in doing the right thing, regardless of the circumstances," Femi said.
He elaborated further: "I won this giveaway of $100 worth of Solana from Rafael Alvi. After he sent it to me, he messaged that he mistakenly sent 100 Solana, equivalent to $14,000, instead of $100. He requested me to keep 10 and return 90, which I did."
Femi emphasized his commitment to righteousness, attributing his actions to his faith and teachings from his church. "I cannot keep the money because it is not mine. I am a child of God, and righteousness exalts a nation. Thanks to Apostle Chris Onofua of the Kingdom Spread World Ministry, I have learned the way of righteousness. I am happy with what I did, and so is Rafael. This shows that Nigerians still have people with integrity," Femi added.
Femi, a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (Class of 2017), with a degree in chemical engineering, stands as a testament to the values of honesty and integrity, reinforcing the positive image of Nigerians on the global stage.
