WhatsApp Introduces New Events Feature for Group Chats to Enhance Interactivity

WhatsApp is enhancing group chats with a new "events" feature, making it easier for users to manage and organize events within their group conversations. This latest addition allows users to mark important dates and coordinate activities in real time.
Following the successful launch of a similar feature for communities a few weeks ago, WhatsApp introduced an 'event reminder' feature to further improve event management. Now, this capability is being integrated into regular group conversations.
Spotted in the WhatsApp Android beta version 2.24.14.9, the 'group chat events' feature is now being rolled out widely to all users. If you haven't received it yet, keep an eye on the latest version updates in the Google Play Store over the next few days.
To access this new feature in any group chat, tap on the attachment clip icon to open the tools window. Among options like document, camera, and more, you will now find a new 'Event' tab.
Using this function, users can input details such as the event name, description, date, venue, and even attach a voice/video call option if needed. Once created, the event will be visible to all group members, who can also accept event invitations.
The events feature is end-to-end encrypted, ensuring user privacy. Only group members can access event details. WhatsApp is rolling out this feature to both beta and non-beta testers, so users can expect to experience it soon.
