Nigerian fintech company, Carbon, has ceased its debit card operations in Nigeria, just two years after the service's launch. The announcement was made by Carbon’s co-founder and CEO, Ngozi Dozie, in a Substack post on Wednesday.
Dozie did not provide explicit reasons for the discontinuation, but his post hints at the possibility that the company may have misjudged the market need for the debit card service. This move marks a significant shift in Carbon's strategic direction as it reassesses its offerings in the competitive fintech landscape.
